College Township Council Vacancy

The College Township Council is accepting applications, including a resume, from residents of the Township to fill a vacant position on Township Council. The vacancy is for an unexpired term that will end on January 1, 2024.

The College Township Council, which is comprised of five elected officials, helps oversee Township operations. As the Township's policy-making body, Council is responsible for setting tax rates, approving an annual budget, and enacting ordinances to carry out policies. Council represents the Township as members of the Centre Region Council of Governments (COG). Each board member serves in various capacities on COG committees that address regional issues such as transportation, public services, finance and personnel. Council also appoints the Township Solicitor and Township Manager.

Meetings: The Council meets on the first and third Thursday of every month or as otherwise noted in the Council approved meeting schedule at the beginning of each year. Council meetings are held at 7:00 pm at the College Township Municipal Building, with remote participation by Council members available on an as-needed basis.

Appointment Process & Schedule:
A candidate will be appointed to fulfill the vacant Council position for the remainder of the unexpired term by a majority vote of the College Township Council.
