Effective on Thursday, November 24, 2022, Pike Street in the Village of Lemont will reopen to two-way traffic.
Please be aware that construction crews will still be present on and in the vicinity of Pike Street as work continues on Phase 2 of the Pike Street Traffic Calming and Accessibility Project. This ongoing work may necessitate periodic lane flagging and short-term traffic delays.
The improvements being constructed in Phase 2 include curbing, stormwater upgrades, delineated parallel parking, curb ramps, and full sidewalk along both sides of Pike Street from the intersection with Elmwood Street to Dale Street. Phase 1 of the project, completed in 2021, included waterline and gas line relocation work in anticipation of this year’s construction activities. Tree planting, landscaping and some minor construction activities are anticipated to occur in Spring 2023.
Bowman Excavating, Paving, and Concrete of Bellefonte, PA is the contractor on this $1,517,160 project. All work remains weather and schedule dependent. College Township reminds the traveling public to use caution in work zones, obey posted speed limits and any periodic flagging for ongoing construction activities.
