Employment Opportunity: Economic Development Specialist (Part-Time)
Community & Economic Development Department – College TownshipHourly, Non-Exempt | 25 Hours Per Week
College Township is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and community-minded Economic Development Specialist (EDS) to support key programs, projects, and economic development initiatives. This position plays an essential role in coordinating documentation, assisting with financial and compliance processes, and supporting communication efforts that strengthen the Township and the College Township Industrial Development Authority (CTIDA).
About the Position: The Economic Development Specialist provides administrative, communication, and project support to the Community & Economic Development Director and CTIDA. This role ensures that program documentation, records, reports, filings, and partner communications are accurate, timely, and well-organized to advance community and economic development efforts across the Township.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and distribute meeting agendas; draft and organize meeting minutes.
- Maintain updated board policies, procedures, and organized filing systems.
- Coordinate communication with Township staff, CTIDA members, clients, and community partners.
- Collect, validate, and manage required data sets and reporting deadlines.
- Maintain financial records, accounts payable/receivable submissions, and compliance files.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and project-specific reports.
- Draft newsletters, update website content, and manage social media posts as assigned.
- Support marketing material development and project-based collateral.
- Research grant opportunities, draft applications, and support reporting requirements.
- Process applications for programs and maintain accurate client documentation.
- Respond to inquiries from clients, partners, and the public.
- Provide general administrative support to the Community & Economic Development Department
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in business/public administration or related field.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
- Experience with QuickBooks/basic financial processing or ability to learn.
- Experience with reporting and data analytics or ability to learn.
- Experience with graphic design/content creation or ability to learn.
- Experience with grant writing and gran management or ability to learn.
- Education & Experience may be considered as replacement for a degree.
