In addition to the oversight of our elected officials, the Township depends upon citizen volunteers to provide support to the Council through participation in a variety of Authorities, Boards, and Commissions (ABCs). Citizen volunteers are appointed by Council to serve on the Planning Commission, Zoning Hearing Board, College Township Water Authority, Parks and Recreation Committee, Industrial Development Authority, and Local Traffic Advisory Committee, to name a few.
Citizen volunteers are also called upon to serve in a variety of regional capacities from representing the Township on the University Area Joint Authority Board and C-NET to serving on the Centre Region Planning Commission and Schlow Centre Region Library Board.
Without the expertise and dedication of our citizen volunteers, local government could not hope to manage the broad spectrum of issues impacting our Township. Our thanks to all who have volunteered over the years and who are thinking about offering their expertise to College Township.
College Township continuously accepts applications from citizens interested in serving on any and all Township ABCs. Openings become available throughout the year. Consider volunteering some of your time to College Township.
